St Mark the Apostle, the founder of the Coptic Orthodox theology & Church

St Mark is one of Jesus´s 12 Apostles. He founded the first Christian theology in the world in Alexandria, and founded the Coptic Orthodox Church. He broke away from the pagan traditions of the past to an era of Christianity
It is sad that we don´t get to grow up knowing the real meaning of being Orthodox Christian in Eritrea first, abroad next, the way we were meant to, the way our ancestors knew it just few generations before us. Somehow, impart due to successive late colonial rules, our church has lost its proper meaning. This is without us knowing its proper significance, at a time when we were systematically deprived from knowing it by a malicious design.
St. Markus the Apostle set the foundations for our Church´s traditions & theology. Abuna Frumentius or Abuna Salama went to this particular theological school in Alexandria before he became the bishop of the Axumite kingdom, after the king decided to make Christianity the official religion of the kingdom in 300 AD. Despite the history that the Tewahdo Orthodox Church has with the Syrian Orthodox Church, it must have been St. Mark himself, 200 years after his death, that was key in linking our Church to the Coptic Orthodox Church, instead of to the Syrian one.
