Pope Francis to meet with Coptic Orthodox pope, Tawadros II, to mark key anniversary

The Friday meeting marks the 40th anniversary of a historical meeting between Pope Paul VI and Coptic Pope Shenouda. That meeting back in the 70's triggered a new chapter in ecumenism. Both leaders published a joint statement that highlighted their doctrinal agreements on Christ, the Sacraments and the Virgin Mary. .
